To support greater consistency in start times across the Central East Region, effective June 2, 2026, all judge-led OCJ courts in York Region (Newmarket) will commence at 9:30 a.m. except for courtroom #202 which will still commence at 9:00 am to address the triage list. This change affects the following courts, which currently begin at 9:00 a.m.: • Community Treatment Court • Judicial Pre-Trial (JPT) courts for both represented and self-represented matters • All youth courts • POAA court

To alleviate courtroom constraints in Newmarket, a pilot initiative will designate Courtroom 409 at the Oshawa Courthouse for Newmarket trial matters from September 1 to December 31, 2025. This pilot may be extended following evaluation.
