Speakers:
Harold Niman
Harold is involved in claims related to all aspects of separation and divorce, including complex financial matters, custody litigation, and mobility cases. Harold has extensive trial experience and has appeared at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Harold has written articles for several legal periodicals, served as an associate editor of the Reports of Family Law, and is the editor and co-author of a textbook, Evidence in Family Law.
Justice Heather McGee
Justice McGee was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice, Family Court Branch in 2009 in Newmarket, Ontario but recently transferred to Brampton, Ontario. Justice McGee was a partner with McGee & Fryer prior to her appointment.
Joanna Harris
Joanna is an in-house counsel at York Region Children's Aid, currently seconded to Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services. Joanna is an associate editor of Evidence in Family Law and recently co-authored the chapter on Intimate Partner Violence, Torts, and Family Law with Harold Niman. Joanna also volunteers with Luke's Place, providing summary legal advice for women experiencing violence in their relationships.
