The York Region Law Association is a professional organization committed to serving the legal community within the Region.
Supported by membership fees and grants, the Association administers and maintains the Law Association and Library situated at the Newmarket Courthouse.
The Association establishes standing committees tasked with addressing matters pertinent to the practice of law in the Region. These committees maintain ongoing communication with various levels of the judiciary, as well as with related offices and organizations.
Furthermore, the York Region Law Association coordinates continuing professional development programs, regular social functions, and educational and informational meetings for its members.

For better and more reliable connectivity and bandwidth at Superior Court of Justice courthouses, counsel and self-represented litigants are encouraged to register for the OPS Guest Wi-Fi (as opposed to using the OPS Public Wi-Fi which is not available in courtrooms). Once registered, counsel or a litigant will have access to Wi-Fi at any Superior Court of Justice Courthouse across the province for a period of 6 months (accounts must be renewed every 6 months).
